Bridget Barry (she/her)

Bridget is a first year Clinical Psychology (PsyD) student and new Psycle lab member as of September 2025. Born and raised in St. John's, she is a proud Newfoundlander and is excited to be back at MUN. In her free time, she enjoys trying new coffee shops, spending time with friends and family, and watching Love is Blind.

Research Interests

Bridget completed her B.A. (Hons) degree at Memorial University in 2023, where she worked on interdisciplinary research projects in psychology, criminology, and medicine. She also holds an MSc in Applied Psychology (Forensic Stream) from Saint Mary's University, where she gained an interest in studying sexual behaviour, women's health, and qualitative methods. Under the supervision of Dr. Balsom, the focus of Bridget's doctoral research will be on Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) for those experiencing infertility-related distress. Broadly, Bridget's clinical interests include reproductive mood disorders, pregnancy and parenting, emotion regulation, DBT, and forensic mental health. Bridget's research is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
